My mother treated herself to a wash and set weekly at the Bon-Ton Beauty Salon.  To keep her "do" preserved, it was wrapped in a piece of toilet paper secured by a clip in the front.  A scarf of netting tied over the lot ensured nothing was disturbed overnight.
